Trying new things - RESISIT TECHNIQUES

This months Ant's Challenge over at Scrapbooking Top 50 was about inspiration - taking inspiration from the first image to inspire the layout and inspiration from the second image to try a new technique.

Funny enough with one of her images coming from Pinterest, and having recently added a few images to one of my boards, with the plans to try one rainy day, so needless to say - those play days didn't have rain, perhaps some chill factor, but I played during the month, and I created lots of disasters but I did try new techniques - RESIST was the name of my new thing to try, and resist it did...LOL I used crayons, I used ink, I used big shot impressions, I used embossing powders, I used glimmer mist, I used stamps and inks in ways I have never done before - I HAD LOTS OF FUN during the month trying out bits and pieces, but only one item made it onto my layout for this challenge

The tag that made it onto my layout, went through a process of distress ink smudges, then I inked up a Tim Holtz Impressions with a script stamp and put through my big shot, then it had a few sprays of glimmer mist, before being, distressed with a little more Tim Holtz Ink, then I applied some fine embossing powder, before distressing a little more with Ink to fill the cracks that were created with the embossing powder I hope you can see this in the above image

My layout is inspired by the orange and blues of the first image with lots of flowers, these photos were perfect.

Keeping on keeping on

Up, and just pottering around, and another layout done....still yet to have breakfast, but hey a layout is done.

this one is for the Color Combo Challenge Site and #159 I love their inspiration boards, and this was so a not me combo, and I loved the challenge.

It was perfect for the photos my sister had given me of my nieces school photos.

It also gave me a chance to play with a few more of my Tim Holtz Textures ...this is the Collage one and also the Cuttlebug Numbers that I uploaded to the Forever Always Store last night, with those October Afternoon Recess Papers too, great collection of fun.

The collage, is just embossed onto my Monte Marte Paper, just look at the depth of the texture

The Cuttlebug isn't as deep, but I love the effect I have created - I have embossed onto white cardstock, not bazzill, just a flat one, and it looks just like KRAFT - this was achieved by swipping with the Tim Holtz Dirstress Ink in vintage photo, then spritzing with water, and quiet a bit and then heat drying, then I spritzed again with Silver Sugar Glimmer mist and heat dried again....mmmm home dyed Kraft....liking that one!!!!

A little cluster love.... :), yep pin, heart, tag, got the essentials...with a little ribbon and this time string!!!

Friday - Update

Well, after a huge day yesterday on the computer yesterday or should I say this morning and surprise ferry ride on the harbour to join Mum and Dad for lunch at City Extra, you would think the last place I would be this morning is surfing the net...but nope here I am.

I am so proud of my new changes to the Forever Always Website.....I have come along way.

And I found a new challenge blog, Michelle's post linked me to this one Butterfly Crafts - so I have popped it's logo and link in my side bar, and hope to get to play with some of there monthly challenges all in my hope to achieve more this year.

Well I still have to download yesterday's photo's I hope I got some good ones, it was fun snapping with my long lense on the harbour....I went for lot's of pics of the Opera House it always amazes me with it's lines and shapes...
