Race ROADBLOCK and Stop 6. South America BRAZIL

Just when I thought I was travelling along well in Scrapbooking Top 50 Great Race up pops a ROADBLOCK!!! Oh no seems my luggage has been misplaced on route to the next stop.....looks like I get to hangout at the airport while I wait for my luggage, lucky me I can do a spot of duty free shopping while taking in the sites of the international airport!!!

For this roadblock, we were given 2 options....

1. Scrap a layout that includes a clearly visible camera or an item you can buy duty free,

OR

2. partake in a photo challenge! Use your imagination to upload pics of the following...

I chose to complete the Layout,  and have included 2 visible camera's - one is a stick on tab at the top of the photo and the other is a charm from the Scrapbooking Top50 Great Race Kit

I had fun playing with Heidi's Magic Alphas and my Distress Inks!!

Ola, welcome to my Brazilian entry for Stop 6. of the Scrapbooking Top50 Great Race
The criteria to be include on our layout for this country is as follows:
1 .Use drops/splashes of something on your page to represent the beautiful waterfalls of Brazil
2. Use a flag of some sort to join in with the Soccer mania of Brazil
3. Use some bling to get dressed up for Carnavale celebrations.

Here is my  Layout, which includes all three of the criteria.

1 .Use drops/splashes of something on your page to represent the beautiful waterfalls of Brazil

2. Use a flag of some sort to join in with the Soccer mania of Brazil - flags covered those with flag style banners and a single look here flag!!
3. Use some bling to get dressed up for Carnavale celebrations.- oh did I bling it up, my original backing sheet was covered in glittered circles, which you can see from the removed edges of my tissue paper, then there is the bling glittered title, and then more bling framing my photos.

I certainly enjoyed both these layouts, and they are very different, I am covered in orange blotches from my foray with the ink....but i had loads of fun. Just hope the dr doesn't look too close tomorrow when I take my daughter for her MRI.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look and if you commented THANKS again, it's much appreciated. :)

Aloha, welcome to my Hawaiian entry, thankyou to Becci from Lime Tree Creations, I have used my little crocheted flower from my Race Kit  as part of my criteria to complete this leg of the race,

The criteria to be included on our Hawaiian layout were as follows:
1. Use lots of flowers on the page
2. Include a banner on your page
3. Incorporate Randomness on your LO

Here is my  Layout, which includes all three of the criteria.

1. Use lots of flowers on the page, this one I found very easy, there are plenty including my crocheted one from Lime Tree Creations.

2. Include a banner on your page, another easy one, I love me a banner!!

3. Incorporate Randomness on your LO, now this is the one I struggled with the concept but the doing was rather easy in the end....I have a random hole in my layout - LOL I tore a whole just for fun, and then I also did a few stitches just a random row - yep worked my randomness totally!!!

Ciao, I've finally made it to ITALY! Another Country another 3 criteria to meet for this leg of the race, Oh the Colosseum and the Leaning tower of Pisa how can I resist!!!!

1. Food theme
2. Layered embellies - to represent the Colosseum
3. Off center and angled - just like the leaning tower of Pisa

Here is my  Layout, which includes all three of the criteria.

1. Food theme - scrumptious chocolate dipping bowls and strawberries YUMMM!! I used the doily to represent my plate, and then stitched on those swirls of chocolate, was totally craving chocolate the whole time I scrapped this one!!!

2. Layered embellies - to represent the Colosseum - lots of layers, papers, doileys, double layered chocolate flowers with rich red ruby centers .....mmmm can you see my drooling for those choc covered strawbs!!!

Race Stop 3. Antarctica

Scrapbooking Top 50 Blog challenge, Race Stop 3. I could feel the chill, just browsing the images in the forum... for the Antarctica, this is one place I would really love to visit IRL. So this destination was much appreciated.
Here is my  Layout, which includes all three of the criteria.

The criteria to be included on this destinations layout for the ANTARCTICA were:

1. white space - Yes plenty of that.
2. cool colour scheme - All shades of blue, through to grey and a little white!!

3. texture - be it texture paste, crackle medium, scrunched pp etc - I have covered this in many ways, I started with some edge texture, roughing up and tears around the patterned paper. Then I stamped and embossed the arrows background. I have also used textured chipboard alphas, fabric misted arrows, there is also a large sequin that is embossed, it was hard to show the texture but I have tried.

I have also used a few items from my SBT50 Amazing Race kit, the perfectly "icy" coloured pin from this legs sponsor a little bit 'fANTsy' pin. I have also used the cute little kissing charm that was in my kit also.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look and if you commented THANKS again, it's much appreciated. :)

Race Stop 2. Asia - Japan

Scrapbooking Top 50 Blog challenge, gave us a quick Detour at the post-office then the race was on to the airport for my international flight to Asia, Japan.

With a wonderful greeting in Japanese Youkoso (welcome), we were informed that for this leg of the race, we were required to complete a layout with the following criteria.
1. Use a wet medium eg. paint, mist
2. Use washi tape, store bought or make your own.
3. Some sort of flora aside from flowers. Eg tree, branch, vine, grass etc.

Here is my  Layout, which includes all three of the criteria.

1. Use a wet medium eg. paint, mist - my medium of choice was Mist, in a subtle cream, I have misted my white doilies on to the yellow background, to create a shadow of my doily, as well as change the colour of my doily. I have also used Ink to dye some of the doilies as well.

\
2. Use washi tape, store bought or make your own. - I have chosen to use my washi tape to make a banner mirroring the banner in the circle tab on my page that says live.

3. Some sort of flora aside from flowers. Eg tree, branch, vine, grass etc. - I have used a vine, leaves and flower tendrils made from wire.

Thanks for stopping by to have a look and if you commented THANKS again, it's much appreciated. :)

Race Detour 1. International Airport via Post Office

After finishing my Australian Stop 1, the Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia Great Race has thrown us a Detour before embarking on our first international leg of the race, we have to make a Detour to the post office to send a letter to our loved ones, but it's a really windy day, and while trying to post my letter is has blown away.

Detour 1 International Airport via Post Office Criteria is to Scrap a layout or 3 card set with either a postage stamp, envelope or some hidden journalling.

Here is my chosen Detour Layout, which includes all three of the criteria.

POSTAGE STAMP - created by stamping  and  wet embossing a stamping up image and then cutting with  heritage edge scissors affixing and then over stamping as they do in the post office.

Completed Layout showing the ENVELOPE that I made to house my HIDDEN JOURNALLING  show case my title

My HIDDEN JOURNALLING is on that scrunched little piece of paper that's just peaking out

I have upcycled a Rivers Shoe Tag for my key ring, of keys that I have inked and uteed for that glossy look. Thanks for stopping by to have a look and if you commented THANKS again, it's much appreciated. :)

Race stop 1. Destination Australia

Scrapbooking Top 50 Australia Great Race is off, and our first destination is Australia

Here's my take on stop#1. "true blue TUCKER aussie lamb Barbecue"

1. Use Aussie slang on your layout - check.
     true blue - patriotic
     tucker -  food
aussie -  (pron. Ozzie) : Australian

2. Include an Aussie Image (eg, flag, map) or an Aussie Animal - check
colours of the flag, and I have also used the aussie flag bottle top from my Amazing Race kit

3. Use a border punch or scallops - to represent the large iconic structures - check
Scallops used, in many ways, felt frame under the dymo label, felt scallop, and timber scallop       strip under main photo.

Check out the forum to see the other entries, or join us it's not too late to grab a ticket and start racing!!!!
