Studio Thursday

Well yesterday was the first of the years Studio Thursday, Anne and Lizzi joined me for some chatting and scrapping. It was nice to catch up with the girls again after the Christmas break. I got in and created happily whilst Anne was creating a card and Lizzi was chatting up a storm. This first layout is for the White with 1 Blog, and one of my goals for this year to complete more challenges for the challenge blogs out there. Januarys Challenge - White, Turquiose & Flourishes. Well I am not sure if my white is the majority of the layout as it is supposed to be, but I love it and I think it works. I still have to journal on this layout. - I have used Bazzill Carstock, with a Facny Pants Flourish that I painted white and then covered in crystalina kindyGlitz. I have used a block of photos, at the time of printing I couldn't decided how many to use, so printed a sheet of wallet size and my favourite in 6x4 - I love how this one have come together in the end. The focus photo is highlighted with a Hambly Screen Prints overlay. Other items include a stamped overlay that I created using Autumn Leaves stamp, Stazon Ink and a piece of recycled packaging. Bella Alphas, Jenni Bowlin Desings journaling block, and ticket with a pin.
Then i got stitching and made 15 of the above swap items for the White with 1 January Swap - which was Pink...I think they are sweet, hope the other swap girls like them. They will be posted Monday.
Then I whipped up this card, for Evelyn's 80th Birthday. Hope she likes it. I have used Kaisercraft Papers here with some Making memories velvet ribbon and a bella chip alpha. The rubon is a basicgrey one.

Creativity & Comments.

A bit of creative sharing from the last week. Below are the cards for the Masculine Card Swap over in the Forever Always Forum. But first are the most recent layouts 'a rare MOMENT' was completed for the RAK & New Challenge
and 'things we love about YOU' was for the Recipe Scrap that Amie Taylor gave us last night in the Forum.
I have been stitching as well...but can't share the items yet....might be naughty and give you a sneak tomorrow.
Well, I have had a comment from Anna M whose recently had a birthday and a giveaway on her blog....which I won one of the prizes on.... requesting my chinese omelettes recipe from this post. They are actually from my Chinese Cooking Class Cookbook ("Australian Women's Weekly" Home Library) this was one of my first cookbooks, when i left home. It was something my grandfather gave me,who was a great cook!!

Here is the Recipe - which is actually called

Prawn Omelette
YOU WILL NEED
8 Eggs, salt, pepper, oil, 60g mushrooms, 4 shallots, 1 stick of celery, 250g prawns, 250g can bean sprouts.
  • Put eggs in bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Whisk, until eggs are slightly frothy.
  • Heat small amount of oil in pan. Gently saute finely chopped mushrooms one minute. Remove from pan, drain, add to beaten eggs. Add finely chopped shallots, finely chopped celery, shelled and chopped prawns. and well-drained bean sprouts. Mix well.
  • Add enough oil to medium-sized frypan just to cover base (i use a non stick frypan) just to cover base. When oil is hot, pour omelet mixture into pan making 4 small omelets.
  • When mixture is firm on one side, turn and cook other side. Stack on warm plate while cooking remainder of omelets. Keep warm. To serve, stack two omelets one on top of the other. Spoon sauce over. Serves 4.
SAUCE: 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon cornflour, 2 chicken stock cubes, 1 teaspoon sugar, 2 teaspoons soy sauce, salt.
  • Blend water and cornflour until smooth, add crumbled stock cubes, sugar, soy sauce and salt. Stir until sauce boils and thickens.

Have a great weekend bloggers.....

Studio Thursday + 365 Days of {ME} day 4

Well after a very disturbed night of sleep {lack of sleep} - Dylan had a rough night, I am feeling grumpy and tired....but its Studio Thursday and I need to create.

Got in and created.....belated birthday CARD for Kye.....- not sure if you read me here Kye....but if you do its in the post.....close your eyes and don't look...This one is all stitching, and blue - two of Kye's favourite things.....had fun making this one....am sure it will be well received along with her beaded bookmark.
That was a great start - and got me in the mood, finally got in and started on Ange's CJ - and really got in the groove....really love how this has evolved. Ange's theme was {celebrate} LOVE - who and or what do you love? Ange had also used a postcard on her entry, and it got me inspired to carry the postcard them...but i made my own to go with my loves....then creating a clear title page so that you could see all the layers together in the style of one of my favourite childhood cartoons...the LOVE is......syle....
This first page shows the clear title overlaying all the other pages....so it reads Love is...
US forever always
our home
holding hands
unconditional
on the flip sides
it reads
{everyday} solitude
{priceless} memories
home baked goodness
then on the back of this is my journaling
which reads to me love is all these things ane more, but ultimately its the love of my family

this is the next page in the CJ - showing my family LOVE....Well here we are DAY 4....scrapped and smiling....

big week

Why is it so hard to make a good habit but so easy to break it??
it seems i was doing so well - but alas last thursday night i got so in the creative zone that i forgot to upload my work - but here it is to share - don't they look cute and well the posty would have been impressed too with the bright red and green sparkly envelopes that they went out in.
I definately got into the christmas spirit.

Friday i then went out for a lovely harbour cruise luncheon and the weather was perfect for just floating along on the waves - i even managed and extra hour on board the ship, then followed it with a ferry trip with my mum and a trip to my favourite me splurge max brenner iced chocolate and a strawberry dip - yummm perfect end to a wonderful day.
Saturday - and out came the camera - i snapped away with the kids and santa - and it was just amazing i love doing this for everyone, and i know santa enjoy's it too!
Here are a few of the pics - i hope you enjoy them too!!!

Santa's shopping list will include tumble driers and snowy puppies just to name a few of the more original ideas.

After the weekend just a little more christmas spirit built in our house enough to begin the inside decorating so out came the tree on monday, with bianca home from school we have certainly been busy, decorating and shopping, with trips to ikea as well as the mall - i have finally made a start on my list, last night i even got talked into doing a late christmas cake - so it will be in the oven tomorrow.
But alas with tidying in the studio and shoppers stopping in for christmas gifts - i didnt' get to create today - but it will happen in the next few days with christmas gifts a priority.
