February 2017

February was certainly a ride... with lots of ups and downs and many changes for this family.
Firstly my little girl is not longer little, she decided to move out of home.... big hard one for this mumma. But not only that my little boy grew wings too and flew to the other side of the world for his first big adventure. Which left us as empty nester's... wow... do I like it, do I love it, do I loath it..... well!!!!

Quieter days,  funny how I seem to have more time on my hands with less people under the roof. So lucky for me that meant more stitching, and more me time on the beach.... but that lead to not really feeling like cooking... sooooo, without a chef in the house to say I don't feel like cooking can you... it was time to purchase a slow cooker.... OH my how did I live without one for so long. Spending days at the beach and coming home to dinner done... is just bliss. But those beach days also meant early starts so breakfast baked treats also.... nothing like a good swim then finishing with some freshly baked treat or yoghurt and Nuesli on the beach... life in February was good.

A certain little somebody, started preschool, so I whipped him up a little book bag.... so cute!!! Whilst I am sharing some stitching, I thought its a good time to share these photos of some of my home made Christmas gifts as well. These are now pride and place in the little girls new home. the "Two of us GOING SOMEWHERE GREAT" cushion, is one I screen printed especially for my girl. The French Bull dog fabric was a splurge on her lovely man, the only pet they will be allowed to have in their new apartment.

February also saw my man and I celebrate 28 years of marriage with its ups and downs. We have made it through them all. Who knew  34 years ago we would still be friends!!!

Sketching days are still happening... some days are better than others... but I am really enjoying the process.

I also fell down the Rabbit Hole with Sarah Fielke and joined her 2017 BOM quilt.... so it was shopping for essentials... to go with my stash to create another quilt. So Lucy will have the Rabbit hole to keep her company and keep me busy. Lucky for me to have such helpers, the little girl and her man joined, we have such fun adventures.

And one of my joys, now my little girl comes to visit, is spoiling her, this was a feed the troops home made iced coffees and freshly baked apple cinnamon muffins all Gluten and Dairy Free.

January 2017

I am not one for committing to new years resolutions, only knowing that I possibly am setting myself up for failure... LOL we all are guilty I think of starting good but how often do we actually follow through with it.

So when I saw this above image, I felt it really was a great way of looking at 2017 - so here is to more sleep, more music, more tea, more books, more sunsets, more creating, more long walks, more laughter, more hugs, more dreaming, more road trips, more fun and more love.... and let's just say writing this when I am actually already into the fifth month of the year... it's happening and I LOVE IT.

Dream then Do - a new year means 365 days of new possibilities, This is MY time to dream. My chance to inspire, My opportunity for adventure. BE BRAVE, BE BOLD, and CHASE my dreams this year... what are you doing?

With that being said, after being totally in Awe of my friend Kylie on Instagram @indigoandquince and her 366 daily challenge of drawing daily, I decided it was time for me to get back to my love of drawing. So daily I have been sitting and taking time to sketch, sometimes more than one other days life is crazy, but if I take just 15 minutes out and draw I feel much happier. This combined with my daily swimming January was really amazing.

My more Tea - means more Coffee dates too, with these little cherubs... and this little ones hugs are just pure gold, BUT HER laughter Oh I wish I could bottle it.
More reading - and books get finished...

Our eating, has got much healthier with our Gluten and Dairy Free Options, happening more and more within the whole household.

Beach Adventures - lead to wonderful dreams... who did this boot belong too, how long was it in the ocean.... the answers filled many a daydream whilst I was sketching.
Time outdoors, in this amazing weather... and that means, my garden is getting some much needed love.

And just more time, with this crazy family that I love to bits... not much longer for me to have them all under my roof.... but I cherish every moment till then.

FOREVER ALWAYS AUGUST 2011 SKETCH CHALLENGE

Well I always find a great kickstart to a missing mojo is a sketch, and I have found that working my way back into the saddle has been aided with some sketches, and sometimes it helps to have a few of the trouble points like colour sorted too, so this months Forever Always Sketch was a great one with the aid of the Belle Magazine to help out....

As with all sketches, sometimes it is the skeleton that I start with and then extend, so although the sketch only features one photo I have gone multi with a strip of smaller photos telling the rest of the story in my layout.

I did enjoy this layout hope it helps to inspire you to give it a go too...remember you have until the end of the month to share your link here and the image in our gallery.

Yup 3 for 3 Scrapping FOREVER ALWAYS SEPTEMBER SKETCH

I love creating from a sketch, when the inspiration is high or low.....and it seems that my mojo is on fire, 3 scrapping sessions in less than 3 days is definately got it going...

and when sitting down to right my shopping list amongst supplies, with the computer on in the background, with This Month's sketch sitting there ready to have a go at after the shopping....well sadly the shopping list got left aside and the scrapping demon struck.....

done in about 30 minutes....amazing what having supplies at your fingertips will do.

It was a great Sketch to work with, good bones, and it simply fell together, even having the pocket already made - being a reject from some of the work I have been doing that is secret squirrel still. it was an instant on the page.
Then it was Kraft Tissue paper love....really loving these flowers made so quickly and simple with the tissue paper, and well being KRAFT and me its a match made in heaven.
