Crazy Week, I don't know where to start! I also can't believe how quick they are flying by, maybe it's because we are jamming so much in.
Sunday - Family Came to dinner and we had 6 sleeping over, that makes for 10 in the house. We enjoyed a great family dinner, and then sat down and watched Australia the movie - love it, could watch it over and over again.
Monday - Australia Day - the reason for the family sleepover, was so that we could all spend the day together doing what we as a family of 4 have done for the past few years as a tradition, lazy breakfast, followed by a manly ferry over to circular quay, watch the flyovers, the tall ships race and the parachuters land in the harbour....well with 10 in the house and a very excited Mother/Grandmother we headed off a lot earlier than we would normally do. We all enjoyed the ferry ride. And we found our spot to sit and watch in the harbour just near the Opera House. The Kids went for a few walks...photos to prove it, I was amazed at what my two take for granted when I realised the excitement of my nieces when it came to being close to the Opera House.
Then came the sitting and waiting and waiting and more waiting. Considering we were there at 12 and the first of the events didn't start till 2pm there was a bit of timeto fill in. We were coping fine to start with...but, 2 oclock came and went and then 3 oclock came and went, the crowds were swelled, they closed down the harbour, the test flight came buy and dropped a test flag, to check for wind. And we were still waiting, the faces got a bit sad when the police boats came around and let us know it had all been cancelled. Dissappointment all round. But we still had dinner yet. So a walk back to City Extra to our Booked/but not booked table. Not going there. Window View - yes the fly by did happen, Mum had a panic thinking the plane was going to hit the toaster building, from the angle we were at, it did look like it.
Oh that cocktail....was so yummy, hope to try and recreate it. The phone booth special - Bacardi, Strawberry Liquer, Grenadine, Ice and topped with Champagne. YUMMM - Bianca and I enjoyed.
Home on the ferry to be greeted by Police and swarming Youths....a very scary site.
We all got a tad too much sun, and were so exhausted bed was not far off.
Tuesday - Brian was at work, the kids and I settled down for a quiet day of movies. We watched The Secret Life of Bees, wow amazing to see Dakota Fanning looking so grown up.
Wednesday - Polished the silver - am i mad? ( No don't answer that - I know I am) :)
Thursday's Create - Studio day, Anne and I spent most of the morning flicking through magazines. Anne finally got on to her card and I just stopped messing about and scrapped, NOT what i was supposed to do - DT work, but just for fun I did this layout using the sketch and criteria for WEEK 1 Challenge in the True Blue Aussie Scrapping Comp over at Forever Always
I love these photos, and love the way these colours make the darker photos pop.
Friday - Design Team Meeting, for lunch at home, Paula, Gab and Michelle came over, we chatted and discussed all sorts of things. Then I got in and finished my DT Layouts for the Newsletters
This first one is for the February Colour Combo for Forever Always - TRUE BLUE AUSSIE - Red, White and Blue. This month’s colour scheme fitted in with these photos, although when sharing my layout with Bianca, she insisted that she would have rather seen the background as Kraft – I have a tendency to agree…but then they are my safety colours. Not often do Brian and I have photos together, and with Valentines Day around the corner and our 20th Wedding Anniversary only 18 days away…Love is in the air.‘Just US’ - Materials: Patterned Papers: - Bo Bunny – Double Dot Dark Denim, Scenic Route Sonoma Scrap Strip 3, Sonoma Scrap Strip 2; Transparencies: - NEW Little Yellow Bicycle Love Letters Clear Cuts Shapes, Clear Cuts Frames; Chipboard alphas: -Basic Grey Wilma; Chipboard Shapes:- Heidi Swapp Tri Colour Gloss Chipboard Hearts; Ribbon:-Strano Designs Plain Jane; Other:- Button, String, Black Ink, Making Memories Tag, Fiskars Threading Water Punch.Layout

That is my Daughter Ranette, and nobody has ever said that before, but yes in that photo she does look a bit like Minnie Driver.
ReplyDeleteThe movies were given to us by a friend.
Thanks for the compliment on hubby and me, there aren't many pics of the two of us, so we are trying to make an effort.
